If you are into self-help and reading then I am pretty sure that you will have heard of this book!
I chose to buy this after watching Reese Regan and Kalyn Nicholson rave about this book so much and they are my most watched channels at the moment and it was truly worth every penny! In fact I have read this twice since buying it back in March so it’s clear that I really did like it.
As cheesy as this sounds I am really trying to live the best life that I can and just be an all round more positive person so it’s books like this that I need because I’m a huge book worm so I take a lot of information from what I read. If you are in the same position as me then I would recommend this so much.
So, You Are A Badass (which is an amazing title) is written by Jen Sincero and the whole book is based on her personal experiences which just shows that what she is writing about is not only true, but it works as well. The blurb states that it is ‘the self-help book for people who desperately want to improve their lives but don’t want to get busted doing it.’ and I think that that sums it up pretty well.
It may not look like a very long book but SO much information is packed in these pages and every chapter talks about a different way in which you can start living a more awesome life. The book is also split into sections which start off with realising you want to change up your life to actually doing it. By splitting the book into sections it makes it easier to read and digest all the information that is crammed in and it makes it easier to go over sections if you are struggling with certain things.
The part that really drew me into the book when I started reading it was the language that she used and how it is written in an informal language which means that it feels like someone is speaking it to me. Sometimes I struggle when language is really formal so it felt smoother to read and it also made it more relatable and I could understand the struggles that she discusses that she has experienced in her own life. She talks a lot about her own experiences at the start of every chapter and then she leads into how she changed a certain thing and how you, the reader, can use these things in your own life. It is written in a bullet point format which makes it easier to take in the tips that she writes.
She covers such wide range of topics in the book and a lot of it is based around the law of attraction which she links into how to get the things you want in life and also she relates it a lot to money. She talks a lot about communicating with the Universe and the Source Energy it releases and how you need to raise your frequency to match the vibration of the one you want to tune into. Now that may not make any sense but it’s important to get your head around that as it is references throughout the book.
I have read a lot of self-help stuff and a lot of it is rubbish and just pure waffle where as this is to. the. point. She clearly knows what she is talking about and when I was reading I found myself agreeing with everything she had written and thinking of ways that I can incorporate that into my own day to day life and I think that that shows how effective this book is.
The most important phrase that I read on the second page that has stuck with me is You need to go from wanting to change your life to deciding to change your life. Powerful, right? Sometimes you need to hear someone else say it (or for you to read it) in order for you to go and do it if that makes sense. I know there’s things in my life I need to change, such as to stop comparing myself to others and to create the life that I want to live, but I need to hear someone say it in order for me to go and do it which is why this book is perfect.
To sum up the whole book, she repeats the phrase love yourself in every single chapter because it’s so powerful and it’s something that not enough people do. You need to live your life for you and create your own life instead of living one that someone else had created for you. You can do and be whoever you want to be, you just need to have the right mindset which is what this book can help you with.
I would genuinely recommend this to anyone and everyone. Even if you not having a breakdown and really struggling with your life, I still think that you need to read it and then perhaps you will have a lightbulb moment and realise the changes you need to make.
Remember to love yourself!
Have you read this before? If so. what was your opinion of it?
